    Normal physiological changes during pregnancy require, on average, a 50% increase in circulating blood volume that is accompanied by an increase in cardiac output that usually peaks between the midportion of the second and third trimesters. [21] The increased cardiac output is due to an increase in the stroke volume, and a small increase in heart rate, averaging 10 to 20 beats per minute. [21] Additionally uterine circulation and endogenous hormones cause systemic vascular resistance to decrease and a disproportionately lowering of diastolic blood pressure causes a wide pulse pressure . [21] Inferior vena caval obstruction from a gravid uterus in the supine position can result in an abrupt decrease in cardiac preload, which leads to hypotension with weakness and lightheadedness. [21] During labor and delivery cardiac output increases more in part due to the associated anxiety and pain, as well as due to uterine contractions which will cause an increase in systolic and diastolic blood pressure. [38] Zucker reports that 22 out of 25 young girls diagnosed with gender dysphoria later did not exhibit any dysphoria, and opines that "the so-called natural history of GID in children is complicated, and to make dogmatic assertions is overly simplistic." [39] Professionals who treat gender dysphoria in children sometimes prescribe drugs, known as puberty blockers , to delay the onset of puberty until a child is believed to be old enough to make an informed decision on whether hormonal or surgical gender reassignment is in their best interest. [141] The commonly-used drug regimens have similar efficacy in reducing the risk of all major cardiovascular events, although there may be differences between drugs in their ability to prevent specific outcomes. [142] Larger reductions in blood pressure produce larger reductions in risk, [142] and most people with high blood pressure require more than one drug to achieve adequate reduction in blood pressure. [143] Adherence to medications is often poor and while mobile phone text messaging has been tried to improve adherence, there is insufficient evidence that it alters secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease. [144] Statins are effective in preventing further cardiovascular disease in people with a history of cardiovascular disease. [145] As the event rate is higher in men than in women, the decrease in events is more easily seen in men than women.       Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) , formerly known as pseudotumor cerebri, is a condition that affects the brain. Pseudotumor cerebri literally translates to "false brain tumor." This term was used because symptoms of IIH resemble those of brain tumors depsite no tumor being present. Symptoms of IIH may include severe headache, nausea and vomiting, altered vision, and pulsating sounds within the head. A person with IIH may also have symptoms such as a stiff neck, back or arm pain, eye pain, and memory problems. If the condition remains untreated, permanent visual loss or blindness may develop.

      Dracunculiasis (Guinea worm disease) is a neglected tropical disease (NTD) characterized by a painful burning skin lesion from which the Dracunculus medinensis parasite emerges approximately 1 year after infection resulting from consumption of unsafe drinking water containing parasite-infected copepods ( Cyclops spp. , microcrustacea also called water fleas). Epidemiology In 2012, 542 cases were reported in 4 countries (Chad, Ethiopia, Mali, and South Sudan), a decrease of >99% since 1990. The global dracunculiasis program aims to eradicate the parasite from the last remaining endemic villages located in difficult to reach areas. Clinical description Clinical manifestations appear 10-14 months after infection and include constitutional symptoms (such as low-grade fever, itchy rash, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness) followed by a localized swelling developing into a painful blister, most often on a lower limb. On contact with water, the adult female worm (70-100 cm) bursts through the blister, depositing her larvae in the water where they are consumed by copepods, starting the cycle anew.

[45] [48] [49] [50] Ingredients intentionally added [ edit ] In the United States, the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004 (FALCPA) requires companies to disclose on the label whether a packaged food product contains any of the eight most common food allergens, added intentionally: cow milk, peanuts, eggs, shellfish, fish, tree nuts, soy and wheat. [51] This list originated in 1999 from the World Health Organization Codex Alimentarius Commission .
