Symphalangism Of Toes

Garn et al. (1965) described fusion across the interphalangeal joints of the toes as an isolated inherited anatomical variant, often secondary to absence of secondary ossification centers of the feet. The hands are not comparably involved. It is rare for all of the toes to be involved.
